Feeling in Snow
As soon as I walked outside, I was greeted with the shimmering white blanket of cold. Despite the chill overwhelming my skin, inside I was warm. I felt as though I could be giving off heat; I had the desire to stay out in this freeze for hours. It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements; I took a deep breath to hear more snow was coming.
As I walked I looked up, trying to realize what made this day so beautiful, so serene. It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold and I along with it. Or maybe I was the only one unpaused…Either way, the solitude was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away. I sat down on the edge of a curb and listened. All there was to hear was the wind rushing over the top of my head and circling some old, cracking leaves some yards away. To me it was the reassuring sound of nature, trying not to be forgotten.
It did start to snow. None of those little flurries, but big, fat flakes which clung immediately to their surface.
Then it was time to go and my reverie had to end. As I began walking again, I drifted back into this time frame, calm and cleared.
Now if only I could remember where I was going.
中文：雪天隨想
剛出門，便撲面而來一大片晶瑩雪白的冰涼。冷氣襲來，肌膚陣陣戰慄，而內心卻溫暖如初。覺得自己似乎能發熱，因而渴望在這寒冷中長時間駐足。這是一個大自然與你交流的日子。我深深地吸了一口氣，靜聽雪花飄落，源源不絕。
漫步雪中，舉目四顧，我努力思索是什麼竟然能夠把這一天變得如此美麗和寧靜。那一刻，時間彷彿靜止了，而我也定在其中。或者，只有我一個人在前行……
無論如何，這種孤寂卻令人欣慰。我彷彿脫離了塵世。坐在路邊，仔細聆聽。只有風從頭頂掠過，捲走幾碼遠的乾枯樹葉。在我心中，這是大自然給人安慰、令人難忘的聲音。
真的下雪了!不是零星小雪，而是鵝毛大雪，一落地就凝結在一起了。
該結束沉思離開了!我舉步前行時，思緒又轉回到現實中來，而此時感覺如此平靜，如此清新。
我實在記不得我要往何處去了!

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and lay around it every day. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow... He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.
很久很久以前，有一棵又高又大的蘋果樹。一位小男孩，天天到樹下來，他爬上去摘蘋果吃，在樹蔭下睡覺。他愛蘋果樹，蘋果樹也愛和他一起玩耍。
Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. “Come and play with me,” the tree asked the boy. “I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore.” The boy replied, “I want toys. I need money to buy them.” “Sorry, but I don’t have you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.” The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.
後來，小男孩長大了，不再天天來玩耍。一天他又來到樹下，很傷心的樣子。蘋果樹要和他一起玩，男孩說：“不行，我不小了，不能再和你玩，我要玩具，可 是沒錢買。”蘋果樹說：“很遺憾，我也沒錢，不過，把我所有的果子摘下來賣掉，你不就有錢了?”男孩十分激動，他摘下所有的蘋果，高高興興地走了。然後， 男孩好久都沒有來。蘋果樹很傷心。
One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. “Come and play with me,” the tree said. “I don’t have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” “Sorry, but I don’t have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the boy cut all the branches off the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.
有一天，男孩終於來了，樹興奮地邀他一起玩。男孩說：“不行，我沒有時間，我要替家裏幹活呢，我們需要一幢房子，你能幫忙嗎?”“我沒有房子，”蘋果 樹說，“不過你可以把我的樹枝統統砍下來，拿去搭房子。”於是男孩砍下所有的樹枝，高高興興地運走去蓋房子。看到男孩高興樹好快樂。從此，男孩又不來了。 樹再次陷入孤單和悲傷之中。
One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. “Come and play with me!” the tree said. “I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.” So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time. The tree was happy, but it was not true.
一年夏天，男孩回來了，樹太快樂了：“來呀!孩子，來和我玩呀。”男孩卻說：“我心情不好，一天天老了，我要揚帆出海，輕鬆一下，你能給我一艘船 嗎?”蘋果樹說：“把我的樹幹砍去，拿去做船吧!”於是男孩砍下了她的樹幹，造了條船，然後駕船走了，很久都沒有回來。樹好快樂……但不是真的。
Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I don’t have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you...” the tree said.
“I don’t have teeth to bite,” the boy replied.
許多年過去，男孩終於回來，蘋果樹說：“對不起，孩子，我已經沒有東西可以給你了，我的蘋果沒了。”
男孩說：“我的牙都掉了，吃不了蘋果了。”
“No more trunk for you to climb on.”
“I am too old for that now,” the boy said.
“I really can’t give you anything... the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with tears.
蘋果樹又說：“我再沒有樹幹，讓你爬上來了。”
男孩說：“我太老了，爬不動了。”
“我再也沒有什麼給得出手了……，只剩下枯死下去的老根，”樹流着淚說。
“I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years.” The boy replied.
“Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest.” The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears...
男孩說：“這麼多年過去了，現在我感到累了，什麼也不想要，只要一個休息的地方。”
“好啊!老根是最適合坐下來休息的，來啊，坐下來和我一起休息吧!”男孩坐下來，蘋果樹高興得流下了眼淚……
This is a story of everyone. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad... When we grown up, we left them, and only came to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy. You may think that the boy is cruel to the tree but that’s how all of us are treating our parents.

Take time out during the day for quiet time to listen to your inner voice. You may want to use your quiet time to meditate or pray. However you use this time, the key is to shut out all of the noise around you by focusing deep within yourself. Breathing deeply during quiet time will also help you focus. I know it’s hard to find quiet time during a particularly busy day, but it’s so important — even if it’s just 10 minutes a day and you have to sneak away to get it. Quiet time can really make a difference in your life. It enables you to hear God speaking to your heart reminding you of His perfect love for you.

Be honest with yourself by paying attention to your actions. Actions speak louder than words, and they always tell the truth. What do your actions say about you? If you say you love your job, but your actions say otherwise, which do you think is more true — your words or your actions? On the other hand, if you say you’re not good at a certain job, but your actions say otherwise, that’s also important. What do you do with this insight? You can use it to make more beneficial choices in your life. By being honest with yourself based on your previous actions, your actions moving forward will be based on truth instead of just what you tell yourself.

Despite what your subconscious may be telling you, you can have love with no limits. The key is to unconditionally love yourself first.

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said, "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she replied, "He's out." "Then we cannot come in", they replied. In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in. "We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, "and he is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Wouldn't it be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love." "Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the three old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house.
The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would have stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!"
三個白鬚飄然的老人坐在婦人家院前歇腳，三人中，一個是“財富”，一個是“成功”，一個是“愛”。婦人邀請他們進屋，三個老者笑呵呵地謝了她，身子卻沒動。
婦人惑然。三個老人說：“我們不能同時進屋呀!不過，你可以去和你的家人商量，看你們最需要我們中的哪一個。”
婦人便進屋把老人的話說了。丈夫驚喜道：“既然如此，我們就邀請財富老人吧，請他進來，讓我們的屋裏裝滿財富!”
婦人不同意：“親愛的，我們爲什麼不邀請成功老人呢?做一切事情都能成功，那感覺會有多好!”
這時候，兒媳插嘴進來，說：“我們還是邀請愛吧，讓我們的家時時處處都充滿愛。”
“那我們就聽兒媳的吧!”一對夫婦朝兒媳點點頭。
於是婦人出門，邀請愛的老人進屋作客。誰知愛的老人起身，成功老人和財富老人也都跟在後面。婦人感到驚訝：“我們邀請的是‘愛’，你們兩位怎麼也一起來了?”
三個老人樂了：“哪裏有愛，哪裏就有財富和成功!”
