If you can see only

what light reveals

and hear

only what sound announces

Then in truth you do not see,

nor do you hear.

假如你只能看到

光所顯示的，

只能聽到

聲所宣告的，

那麼實際上你沒有看，

也沒有聽。

They deem me mad,

because I will not sell

l my days for gold;

And I deem them mad,

because they think my days

　　

have a price.

他們認爲我瘋了，

因爲我不肯

拿我的光陰去換金錢；

我認爲是他們瘋了，

因爲他們以爲我的光陰

是可以估價的。
